Neat Stuff to Know About Leather

    PRODUCT INFO

Is this all you do? No, we also do some commissioned work. If you want something custom-made, we require a deposit of 50% before proceeding with making your item.

What kind of leather do you use? All our products are made from the highest quality leather (usually cowhide) we can find. Some leather is thicker than others – the weight we use depends on the item. No matter what you order, we use only quality leather and we build our products to last!

What kind of finish is on your products? Some of the hard leather products are finished with Leather Balm. This gives some protection against the elements and adds a nice shine. Items that are designed to be worn against the skin probably don't have any coating so you can enjoy the smell and feel of the leather. It just depends on what we're making. If you have specific finish requirements, tell us when you place your order. Clear shoe polish once in a while will keep your leather conditioned and looking nice.

Can I change the design? Yes – If you want to u this, then we consider it to be commissioned work. Let us know your ideas and we'll do our best to make them happen for you. Top of Page

Where can I buy your products?

Our products can only be bought directly from us at the trade shows we attend in Canada. Join our Facebook page to find out where we are. Top of Page

    SIZING

What sizes do your items come in? We can custom size anything you want. Big or small, you're guaranteed something that fits, but you have to try them on! There are no returns due to health regulations or if you make a mistake in sizing when you buy. Top of Page

    ALLERGIES

I'm allergic to metal. This is usually a nickel allergy. We can make our corsets with plackets so the eyelets don't touch your skin. If your item has hardware like rivets or studs, you could coat them with clear nail polish or even use fabric bandages as necessary. Top of Page

    HOW DO I ORDER?

How do I order? In Person – you have to try them on. Custom orders require a down-payment of 50% before we proceed.

How can I pay? You can pay with any major card or Interac when you see us in person. Top of Page

    SHIPPING INFO

Tell me about shipping. We use Expedited Parcel. This includes tracking and insurance.

How long will it take to get it? If you are having any custom work done, it depends on the project. Make sure you allow extra time during heavy mailing seasons like Christmas. Top of Page

    LEATHER INFO

My new leather is stiff and feels cold. Will it stay like that? Leather is a natural product, just like your skin. It will soften with wear and use, so enjoy your new leather for what it is. It might feel cold when you put it on, but after a couple of minutes it will warm up to your body temperature.

My new leather pieces seem thicker/thinner than other pieces I have bought. Why? One ounce in leather measurement is 1/64th of an inch thick, so a weight of 7 to 8 oz means the leather is 7/64th to 8/64th of an inch in thickness, or approximately 1/8” thick. The leather we use depends on the piece we're making. Keep in mind that the thickness can vary a bit throughout the hide. A quarter coin is equal to about 4 oz. Thickness. Sometimes when you get your leather, it will appear to be scratched. We do our best to avoid this, but because this is a product that goes through a lot of processes before we even get our hands on it, sometimes it can't be helped. In our opinion, the imperfections from hide to hide only add to the uniqueness of your item. We take care to purchase only top-quality leather from our suppliers and do our utmost to ensure a quality product. Top of Page

    CARE & CLEANING

What if I spill something on it? You should immediately blot the spill before it absorbs into the leather. If you get it fast, you probably won't notice any staining.

How do I look after my leather? Like skin, leather gets wrinkles – something that adds to the uniqueness of your item. It is subject to mold if it gets wet, and can crack if it gets dry or stretch if it gets wet. Dyes fade and leather will crack with exposure to the sun. Exposure to heat will probably crack your leather. Having said all that, leather really doesn't require a lot of care. Most of the time you can sponge it off with a damp cloth if something gets on it. Look after it as you would look after your clothing and skin. Keep it dry and at room temperature – out of heat and direct sunlight. If your leather dries out, treat it with a good leather conditioner.

Can I return my product? We guarantee our products to be free from manufacturers defect when you receive them, so if there's something wrong with it, email us for instructions. Otherwise your leather is NOT returnable. Top of Page
